ICAP annual flagship report 'Emissions Trading Worldwide: Status Report' to be published in February.

In the first year since the entry into force of the Paris Agreement, emissions trading worldwide has once again taken a significant step forward. Due to be published in February, the 2018 edition of the ICAP Status Report – our fifth annual report since 2014, will again provide a comprehensive snapshot of the latest developments in ETS in operation and under consideration around the world. Up-to-date factsheets are paired with easily accessible infographics that show broad trends in ETS. In-depth articles from policymakers and carbon market experts also provide insights into the latest developments across the globe.

Recent developments bring the global ETS count to 20 systems in operation in early 2018, at different levels of government. The culmination of several years of hard work, 2017 has seen not only the emergence of two new ETSs but also the completion of major reviews, reforms and new legislation in four of the pioneering systems. These reforms will be key focus of the ICAP 2018 Status Report.

Two public webinars will be held to mark the launch of the ICAP 2018 Status Report, to provide an in-depth look at the themes of the report and share the latest updates and reflections from policy makers. The executive summaries will also be made available in Chinese and Spanish.
