On 16 July 2025, Poland joined the International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP) as its 35th member.
Poland’s admission follows a formal application submitted by the Institute of Environmental Protection – National Research Institute / National Centre for Emissions Management (KOBIZE), and the signing of the ICAP Political Declaration by the Minister of Climate and Environment. By joining ICAP, Poland demonstrates its commitment to international collaboration on emissions trading and the advancement of effective carbon market policies.
As an ICAP member, Poland will engage with a global community of jurisdictions dedicated to sharing knowledge and strengthening emissions trading systems (ETSs). Building on its active participation in the European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), Poland will contribute its experience and expertise while benefiting from international cooperation. This step further underscores Poland’s ongoing efforts to address climate change and support the development of robust carbon markets.
Poland’s membership brings the total number of ICAP members to 35. ICAP also counts nine observers.
