Now available in Chinese: Updated Handbook for Emissions Trading Design and Implementation

The International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP) and the World Bank’s Partnership for Market Readiness (PMI) have released the second edition of “Emissions Trading in Practice: A handbook on design and implementation”. Now translated into Chinese by the GIZ implemented project “Sino-German Cooperation on Emissions Trading Systems, Carbon Market Mechanisms, and Industry-related N2O Mitigation” within the framework of the International Climate Initiative (IKI). The Chinese version of the updated handbook also benefits from the strong support from the ICAP Secretariat as well as Chinese ETS experts.

On Tuesday 22 March 2022, GIZ China, the International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP) and the World Bank’s Partnership for Market Readiness (PMI) jointly hosted a free public launch webinar of the Chinese version of updated ETS Handbook. The webinar featured a panel discussion and key speakers from the GIZ China, the ICAP Secretariat, the World Bank, Tsinghua University, SinoCarbon, the Environmental Defense Fund, the China Electricity Council, and China’s National Centre for Climate Change Strategy. The speakers gave an introduction to the updated handbook and also discussed carbon market implications for China and its climate targets.
