ICAP is delighted to welcome Switzerland as its 31st member.Dr. Bruno Oberle, Director of the Federal Office for the Environment of Switzerland, signed the ICAP Political Declaration on 22 June 2015.
Switzerland has been operating an emissions trading scheme (ETS) since 2008 to support its aims in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It was designed to be highly compatible with the European Union’s ETS in order to facilitate future linking between the two systems. Negotiations on this issue are currently ongoing. If you would like further information on Switzerland’s efforts concerning climate protection and reducing emissions, please visit the website of the Federal Office for the Environment.
