The 2025 edition of ICAP’s Emissions Trading Worldwide Status Report, to be published on April 8, highlights the continued expansion and evolution of ETSs worldwide. With 38 systems now in force and many more under development, this year’s report provides in-depth insights into the latest design and implementation trends, key policy developments, and the growing role of ETSs in achieving long-term climate goals.

This annual publication remains a cornerstone resource for the carbon market community, featuring up-to-date factsheets, infographics, and a comprehensive executive summary that distills key takeaways from the past year.

To accompany the launch, ICAP will host two public webinars, offering a platform for policymakers and experts to discuss recent progress and future directions for emissions trading worldwide. These sessions will provide insights from ETS jurisdictions and an overview of the report’s main findings.
