The International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP) is convening an "ICAP Regional Training Course on Emissions Trading" for 25-30 policy makers and other stakeholders from the nongovernmental, academic and private sector from Latin America and Caribbean countries who have not participated in ICAP Training Courses or Summer Schools before.

Bogotá, Colombia, 12 - 21 November 2019.

The ICAP Training Course will convey an in-depth understanding of emissions trading as an instrument to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and build capacity on the technical design and implementation of carbon trading systems. Over the span of eight course days, the course will provide a curriculum dedicated to emissions trading as a policy instrument for climate policy, and provide illustration through many hands-on examples, practical experience and case studies. It will address a range of issues faced in the design of emissions trading systems (ETS), taking into account the specific needs and interests of developing countries. Participants will have ample networking opportunities with each other and with the teaching faculty, composed of representatives from ICAP members, carbon market professionals from the region, and other recognized experts in the field.

Travel expenses, accommodation, catering and local transportation during the Training Course will be covered by the organizers for all eligible participants.
