ICAP Regional Training Course on Emissions Trading in Bogotá, Colombia from 12-21 November 2019!

The ICAP Regional Training Course on Emissions Trading is designed for 25-30 participants from Latin American and Caribbean countries who have not participated in ICAP Training Courses or Summer Schools before.

Applicants should be stakeholders from the nongovernmental, academic and private sectors as well as policy makers who are or will be involved in deciding on, designing and implementing ETS.

Application deadline
is Thursday, 19 September 2019 at Midnight (CET).

The course will convey an in-depth understanding of emissions trading as an instrument to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and build capacity on the technical design and implementation of carbon trading systems taking into account the specific needs and interests of developing countries. Over the span of eight course days, the course will provide a curriculum dedicated to emissions trading as a policy instrument for climate policy, and provide illustration through many hands-on examples, practical experience and case studies.

The ICAP Training Course is implemented by ICAP and Ecologic Institute. It is hosted by Colombia’s National Planning Department (DNP). It is supported by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), the Spanish Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the World Bank’s Partnership for Market Readiness (PMR).
