On 3 December 2012, ICAP hosted a side event on “Latest Developments of Emissions Trading Around the World: Updates and Outlook” at the United Nations Climate Change Conference 2012 (COP 18) in Doha, Qatar.

The event featured short presentations and a panel discussion of government representatives and carbon market experts from Australia, China, New Zealand and Québec, who gave a representative sample of developments worldwide. Panelists underlined the importance of putting a price on carbon to help achieve emissions reduction goals. They shared insights on the specificities of their ETS designs and gave an outlook on future developments in their jurisdictions.
