The World Bank’s Partnership for Market Readiness (PMR) and the International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP) held a side event on Wednesday, 27 May 2015 at Carbon Expo.

The event brought together policymakers and representatives from the private sector to discuss key lessons learned from emissions trading in Germany, China, California, France and Vermont.

The event took place in the context of the joint development of a ‘how to’ handbook on designing and operating an ETS for countries and sub-national jurisdictions interested in emissions trading. The handbook, which will be launched later this year, aims to capture the experience gained from a decade of emissions trading from existing systems operating around the world, including in the EU, China, Kazakhstan, North America, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, and Australia.
