ICAP with support from the European Commission hosted a public webinar on enabling a green recovery with emissions trading on 3 December 2020 at 4:00pm (CET).

Economic activity around the globe has been severely impacted as a result of the novel coronavirus pandemic. As countries deploy recovery strategies, growing attention has been dedicated to ensuring that the economic recovery yields environmental benefits. Emissions trading is a policy option that can support a green recovery by generating revenue for investment and innovation, shifting private sector investment towards lower-carbon technologies and infrastructure, and accelerating the emergence of a market for low-carbon products.

In this webinar, prominent experts from academia and practice discussed ways in which emissions trading is already accelerating a return to a more sustainable normal. The event forms part of the ETS for Policy Practitioners webinar series hosted by the International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP) with support from the European Commission.
